AK Coope, photo by Chris LohAK Coope performs with an eclectic array of ensembles, including the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver New Music, Turning Point, and Victoria’s Aventa Ensemble among others.  She can also be heard on countless CD recordings and film soundtracks, from Disney to Dan Mangan. As a composer, she has written songs, worked with members of Vancouver’s Dance and Theatre communities and had her first musical, How I Became Queen, produced in 2006.  AK holds degrees from UBC and from Northwestern University, Chicago, and is currently on faculty at the Vancouver Academy of Music and the VSO School of Music.
